Introducing the Q House Foundation & 1924 Society

 

As part of our commitment to long-term sustainability and generational impact, the Q House Foundation is in the process of being established and, in partnership with the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven, holds a fund in support of the soon-to-be Q House Foundation. This dedicated fund will help preserve and grow the programs, services, and safe spaces that generations of families have come to rely on.

We are also proud to announce the creation of the 1924 Society, which honors the year the Q House was founded and recognizes those who commit to making a legacy gift to support its future. Legacy Planning Workshop Recap

 

On Thursday, September 18, 2025, Aropa Consulting coordinated a special Planned Giving Workshop at the Q House, led by the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven. This session helped demystify how planned gifts work and how you can create a legacy of impact.

Topics included:

● Bequests in a will or trust

● Charitable gift annuities

● Naming the Q House as a beneficiary (IRA, life insurance, bank accounts)

● Donating real estate or establishing retained life estates

● IRA Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) for donors 70½+

● Tax advantages and flexible giving options
